Starting off with Tamara! She is Logan.dolls Whisper 1/4 in Dark Tan
I really wanted a bjd after seeing oomfs talk about their's and luckily oomf had showed me Logan.Dolls page right before the whisper and willow preorders had closed not joking I ordered her on like the day before preorders closed or something. She just looked so much like Tamara it was an actual sign from god to spend nearly 500 dollars on her. And then I waited like 3 months and she showed up at the end of January!
And luckily I had already bought her some outfits that would shortly come in the mail so she wouldn't be naked
My first course of action was to try and make her eyes in which I tried two separate attempts to make eyes because I thought I could do it with googly eyes and then I realized that it's best to get actual doll eyes that yknow. Fit. And also not googly or PAPER EYES
the paper eyes I tried first and it... almost worked??
But they didn't stay for too long and the tape for some reason wasn't holding them in that well so I just gave up on the eyes. The googly eye attempt will come later I mustn't spoil anything
Next was the nefarious wig. Literally the most time consuming part of this whole thing. Tamara has curls so I wanted to replicate that. I found some human braiding hair in THE SAME SHADE AS HER HAIR WHAT ARE THE ODDS. And now I'm stuck with a giant two pack of braiding hair and I can't even give it to anyone because it's all tangled in a drawer now crying emoji crying emoji anyways. Time for the wig cap!
I tried making three wig caps. The first one was with a glittery mesh thing I had because I didn't want to cut up a stocking. It did not work.
So then I started with the spare stocking I had that was already ripped due to my inability to put on a stocking without it ripping. The first attempt I didn't wait long enough for the glue to dry and messed it up but the second time went smoothly! Now I have a wig cap! Just the stocking by itself wasn't enough to hold the hair so I ended up getting a silicone wig cap to put under the stocking one which worked!
Now for the worst weekends of my life. Because I was working Monday through Friday I only had Saturday and Sunday to work on the wig. And because I like to lay in my bed all day I only worked on it during the late evening so all of these pictures were taken over the course of 4ish weekends. Like I said earlier and if you can look with your eyes Tamara has curly hair. So how was I going to achieve the perfected texture? By creating like 5 billion microbraids of course. Even my mom was trying to help out because my fingers are not equipped for this but hers are because she used to braid my hair heart heart anyways. I started by following this tutorial for making your own wig wefts but substituting the fancy tension contraption with… a bar stool.
And that's what I did I did my little knots and then braided them and then once I had three braids I braided those braided together
I actually only had one of those pictures lol. So anyways once I did four of the braided braids I would cut them off the thing then put them in really hot microwaved water (I was too scared to boil the water) and the start gluing and pressing the ends in my notebook (you'll see her soon) like I was pressing dried flowers and then using my knowledge of watching every moonlight jewel bjd video I glued the wefts along the wig cap
And then poof! The wig was done! I tied it first with a tiny rubber band and then tied her bow! The bow I already had from a little thing I made years ago and I always draw her with a little red bow
Okay now back with the fucked up eyes. I tried AGAIN to make eyes for her but with googly eyes! But it ended up being even worse so I quickly scrapped it also it was realllllly hard to use the tape with the googlies
And then the acrylic eyes that are meant for bjds arrived so then she finally had proper eyes. My mom was very relieved because she found her lack of eyes unsettling lol. Eyes were done by saisailsales! Yes I still have them held by tape because I don't know how to use eye putty so I haven't bought any yet
I KNOW SHE LOOKS A BIT SCARY but here's where we do the fun part! The face up and vitiligo!
I did the vitiligo first and here is my trusty notebook with GLOBS of acrylic paint and random blue hair from the wig making process. First I use a layer or two of Mr super clear in order to prepare her body. In which I managed to spray the base and my glasses?? So now her base and my glasses have a matte finish.
And then I start paining! I did her hands and face first just to get a feel for painting what I wanted. I forget which colour I started with but I used three different browns. Dark brown, a medium brown, and then tan.
For her face I also used blue watercolour pencil to do her eyebrows and MANUALLY crushed up pastel CHALK because I couldn't find CHALK DUST and I still have the bowl underneath my bathroom sink. I used this dust to put some blush on her face and on her elbows
And then I did the body! I had so much fun doing the body honestly. Once I was done with the body I did make sure to spray it again with like two coats of Mr super clear
And then... TADA!!!!!! SHE WAS REAL!!!! MY BELOVED BABY GORL TAMARA WAS MADE REAL!!!!!!
And here's some fun outfits I've dressed her in since!
Here's a link to all the shops I used to buy her clothes btw like I have a lot for her and my mom enjoys dressing her up as well!

Thank you so much for reading! Like I said I lost the original thread with all my crying and screaming due to me getting suspended from twitter on my former account so I wanted to make a back up! Especially since I have a new doll on the way that I also want to document! She should be… significantly easier than Tamara as it's her baby Marie!
